Tidbits

You know you're a nerd when you order a bluetooth headset though you don't have a bluetooth phone, but feel all happy when you made it work with your laptop that has bluetooth built in so you can use it to skype. Ok, so it wasn't really that hard, but it was still kinda cool, even if the mic volume could be a bit better. The whole idea of skype is that you get quality thats better than your phone (mic permitting). Needless to say a bluetooth mic isn't as good as a wired one.

So my cousins are down from up north and I was supposed to go to my uncles for dinner, but I kinda slacked and I'm guessing they already had dinner now. So what I should to is eat something, and then go there. Or even just go there. Instead I'm sitting here writing about how I should do that. And about bluetooth headsets.

I need more movies. Not more; new movies. I watched Mad Hot Ballroom last night, that was pretty cute. It's a docu about 5th graders on the east coast that all take part in this ballroom competition. Also watched Kaena today, a french animation that was better than I expected.

Why am I still at home?

You might not know

In wanting to be a good sport, I recently became obligated to list 5 things about me that people might not know. Being a Grand-Master-Guru in laziness and procrastination, I took the easy way out and just asked a very good friend of mine (Nurse from Code Burgundy, check out my friends links on the right) what she thought would make the list. Here are the things she said:
  • "You type more than you talk."
  • "You are more softspoken than you come across in type."
  • "You are extremely social but spend more time alone than one would imagine."
  • "Your family is the epitome of the American "Melting Pot"."
  • "You have a ratio of girl friends to guy friends of about 10:1." (She's exaggerating)
  • "You love fresh healthy food but tend to go out instead."

So that's 5 and one freebie. Cheers.

Four Rooms

Ok, so I do have far too many posts about movies. I realize that. But here's one more.

I saw Four Rooms last night. Everyone else is talking about watching wholesome family movies like Narnia and here I post about a movie like four rooms. Anwyho, it's not a like it's terribly debauched by today's standards or anything, but definitely not something to watch around the little wee ones.
I'm not a fan of bad language, and there's a great deal of it towards the end of this movie, but some of the scenes and situations are just too good. Which brings me to the reason for this whole post. I never thought I could laugh at something like this, but apparently I can.
There's a scene where the main character throws up, and it was one of the funniest things I've seen in many months. I don't often laugh out loud, at least not uncontrolled. I did that night though. Couldn't stop laughing for 3 minutes and had to laugh out loud a few times when I remembered the scene. Best and funniest throw up scene EVER.
The little posessed brat had nothing on this dude!

Shallow

People are shallow these days. Odds are if anyone is reading this, half of you are shallow too. Heck, I've become shallow in certain aspects.

I used to absolutely detest how when you finish watching a movie, at home or in the theatres, people get up right the moment it finishes. It seems to be a kneejerk reaction regardless if the movie was good or bad, the moment it's over you gotta get up and do something else, or instantly start talking. God forbid you do nothing for a minute, people might think you have no life!
In the earlier parts of my life, a decent movie would sink in properly during the credits, while scarcely noticing the moving text, listening to the music, pondering things. Someone getting up too soon would literally ruin the movie for me, just as if they had gotten up 5 minutes sooner before the movie was actually over.
Now I've started doing that too! Bah!

So do me a favor, the next few times you watch a good movie alone, don't move when the credits come on. Sit there, think a little, ponder whatever comes into your mind.
